Apple Dumplings

Apple dumplings
This is the craziest recipe...but it works. I visited niece Heather in Georgia  about 2007. This was dessert one night...Jarrell loved it; just like apple pie he says.

No picture of the dessert but here's one of Heather..

4 apples, peeled, cored, quartered
2 cans, 8ct, crescent rolls
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
cinnamon
salt
1 can Code Red Mountain Dew

Separate triangles of dough. Roll each apple quarter in the dough, beginning at the small end. Place in a glass baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and salt.
Melt butter in a saucepan, stirring in sugar, until mixed well. Pour over apples distributing evenly.
Pour the whole can of Mountain Dew over the apple mixture.
Bake 30 min at 350*
Cool....serve with ice cream

I also make it with Peaches (neighbor Brian's favorite)
Ben and I wrapped chocolate squares completely in dough....used 7UP
Because if its not chocolate...we don't eat it

  1. Revisited this. Made it for our (red hat) pumpkin patch visit. Still delicious and several ladies wanted the recipe.
Jarrell is going to miss out this year.
